Hi Rob, here is my words of truth.

I am sadden by another situation in this world that humankind will destroy what this beautiful planet is providing for us. I am a father of three beautiful children and am really worried about their future. This generation is destroying our chances of survival and for the many generations to come if we do not stop the tragedies that we has a human race is doing to this planet. I have just seen the movie shark water and was sickened by this. Killing these beautiful creatures for their fins and dumping them back into the ocean to bleed to death for SOUP. Even though it is just used for texture. I just don’t get it anymore. The sharks have survived on this planet for 400 million years, and the last decade, they have been hunted for human pleasure and will not survive another decade. To all the people in the world, when will we has human beings realize that greed and money will destroy our very existence on this beautiful planet. I am only one voice and we need more voices to be heard, so the governments of the world can do something before its to late. Listen to me and to the many voices of the world. Please. I really feel sorry for all of us.

I watched the movie called “sharkwater” and I absolutely agree to the plot! It’s the best documentary on earth! It really shows how evil the humans are, including myself ofcourse! We people usually talk about how dangerous it is to swim with sharks but in fact, we are the evil devils! we have destroyd and still destroy this beautiful land and its oceans.It is our duty to make the world good again! I dont want to judge anybody but thats the truth! we all are evil and the angels are animals….in fact humans are also animals but the distinction between us and animals are that we use our force/power! Animals dont do that!
I watched the movie via internet on youtube.com. Im so interested of sharks and one day im going to meet them face to face´. If they still alive of course and i would like to make a improvement and i want and will do what ever I can to save them! In the film some guy plead that “your life changes when you meet the sharks live” Unfortunately I dont remember exactly what he said. I dont have a bad confidence, I always believe in myself but in the same way I hate myself. ´WHY?? Because I’m a human! who kill sharks? Human! who destroyed this world human! We dont even worth to exists in this wonderful land with its mysterious creatures! This isn’t our place. This world belings to the kind animals! And the only evil animals ón earth are humans!
This documentary didnt change my life but it definently showed and proved how much we need the sharks, birds and so on! Man, seriously how in the world can we permit ourselfs to kill sharks (animals) for some dirty money???!!! of course we need money but, we also need to remember that when we die we Are going to left our body BEHIND us in this life and take only our soul to the next life. why would I feel lucky to take my soul when I know that my soul is dirty! My soul is filthy and it does not worth anything! How can I than kill something so beautiful as sharks to get money when I dont have a worth! its the opposite! I am guilty a lot! DONT think that I cut sharks fins, I only try to express my feelings! DAMN, (sorry if I swear a lot)when I watched the movie I couldnt believe my ears, eyes, feelings etc. Previously I said that I’m véry interested of sharks and other animals and when I saw the title “sharkwater” my first thought was “Yes, another documentary that talks about sharks, must be a lucky day!” But later on, I realized that the movie I was watching, talked about our bad behaviours and the future of the animals and ahhhhh! seriously Im pissed off! How can some b*st*rd cut off the fins of a creature for money and than threw it back to ocean??? I usually don’t cry but when i saw the scene of a finless sharks, lay down to the buttom of the ocean. You must be made of stone if you dont get angry, sad etc. when you watch the scene! It’s terrifying and evil and aaahhhhhhhhhh! ( I dont mean that cry is geeky or weak, we show our feelings in different ways)
because of that sight and this great movie, I CANNOT LOOK AT ANY ANIMALS! i FEEl horrible! That shark could be my sister or even worse…I could be that shark!

My name is Haley Manning and I am 15 years old. I live on Vancouver Island and I was recently in an Extra Foods store when I noticed that they sold Shark Cartilage pills. I knew that I had to try to get them off so I wrote up a letter with my concerns and shark facts and gave it to the pharmacy manager. I didn’t get a response for two weeks so I sent my letter to the main office in Ottawa. A few weeks later I got a reply. Stores under Loblaw Companies name will no longer sell Shark Cartilage pills! I couldn’t beleive it! This is great! I just wanted to say that your movie was very amazing and motivating. If everyone works together wasteful products like this could no longer be sold. Here is a copy of the email they sent me if you would like to look at it. I love the ocean and sharks so much so I was very happy to hear this news. You guys are awesome.

Dear Sharkwater crew,

I write you as my grade 12 biology class watches Sharkwater. Every semester, I use this movie as part of my Population Ecology unit. The students now start begging me to show it because they’ve heard from their friends how fantastic it is. It is the highlight of the semester for them. I teach at an international school, where approximately 60% of our population is Asian. After watching the film, my students have all said they will refuse to eat shark fin soup. Some have even written posts on their personal blogs about their new found convictions.

I want to thank you. There is no way that I can teach this material in a way that would affect my students as you have through this film. As much as they enjoy it, it makes an appreciable different in their lives. This is how true societal change is made - by mobilizing and empowering our young.

I wanted to say how inspired I am after watching “sharkwater”. I think it should be played in all schools all around the world. I think that it would make an excellent educational video in schools here in the UK. I know that if I had something like this when I was at school it would of made a difference. Considering the UK has a very large fishing industry and consumer market. I think by approaching the youths today and making them see that we must respect the water and help others see that we are only hurting ourselves in the long run. After all children are the future of our world, and if we do not teach them these values, who will? Hope to see more, thank you for helping me and my family appreciate life that exists around us each day.

Dear Rob, I think what you are doing is amazing because when i saw your movie i cryed like 9 times and you are awsome.when i heard the part when they kill the whole butiful shark just for 2 fins and the rest of it dies i cryed like bawling and you are great and i thought no one els liked sharks but me so then i watched your movie and i fond out someone out there likes them to.i even got a teddy shark and named it Rob after you.The weired thing i am 9 and youare like 30 and we like sharks i did this speach in school on sharks it was amazing i came in 1st. from Alex age 9

Rob –

I can’t tell you how impressed I am with what you have done by making this film. It takes outrage to make people act, and that is what you make the viewer feel. The carnage and cruelty is overwhelming, and the senselessness of it all makes one sick.

I have just shown it to my 75 fifth graders and they were overwhelmingly shocked and changed by what they saw. This is my second year showing it, and last year’s reaction was the same. I may be able to send you a sizable cadre of activists in about 10 years.

Certainly you have made a film that changes the viewer forever. What an amazing young man you are with an unusually strong sense of purpose. Thank you for taking up this cause. I hope beyond words that things turn around for sharks. It will be because of you.

I would like to start by saying that the human race is disgusting. I can’t believe that these things are happening all over the world and it seems like nobody cares. Your movie made me cry, sharks are one of the most beautiful creatures on this earth. I’m saddened by our ocean’s state and scared for my daughter. I believe she will never see a shark in the wild. My family and I are divers as well and have noticed a significant decline in the marine life and their habitat. I will do anything possible to help you with your quest and I think you should be rewarded for all your fantastic efforts. Love the sharks…bad karma to poachers.
